The last few weeks (or perhaps months!), we’ve been playing a bit of catch up – we have extended our warehouse facilities so we have been frantically trying to turn it into a functional space so we can store, pack and prepare more packs for local kids. In time, this extra space will be the next step to enable us to help more disadvantaged children in a much more efficient way, yay!
Earlier in the month one of our major supporters, the Roos Foundation held a Race Day fundraiser at Wyong Race Club. The Foundation is part of the Wyong Rugby Leagues Club group; as well as a great day at the races, we’d love to say a big thank you to the local businesses who attended and supported the day. Together with other local charities, Central Coast Kids in Need, Bellbirds Committee and Central Coast Volunteer Rescue Association, we are incredibly appreciative of the wonderful generosity we receive from the Roos Foundation to enable us to help local families.
Support our Ultimate Mother’s Group and help us change the story on childhood poverty.
This end of financial year, we’re asking you to donate to help provide practical essentials for local kids. Together, you’re creating the ultimate mother’s group – a support network of locals, caring for children living in poverty and disadvantage.
Imagine you’re a young mum-to-be. Seven months pregnant and no family to support her, filling the nursery feels like a distant dream. You can help support mums just like this.
Where your donation goes…
$39 will give one child essentials for a safe start in life
$78 will provide two children with bundles of over 35 items each
$195 will help five children who desperately deserve our help
You can make an online donation to help us reach our goal to support local kids living below the poverty line.

Community kindness to help build our new space
We’ve recently been able to lease some more desperately needed space but its needed a lot of work to get into working order! But WOW, again we’ve had such amazing community support.
A wonderful tradie donated and installed the steps into the new area – and a few of our male volunteers built the landing and railings. Then we focused on the exposed iron roof that we could see would be devastatingly hot in summer but it was 4½ meters up to the roof!!! We had to buy 10 large rolls of insulation blanket as we couldn’t get any support to help us, BUT Alcott Hire amazingly gave us 3-days free use of their scissor-lift that made it possible. Next WEC Electrical donated two great industrial ceiling lights and a wall fan, AND installed all the electrics for us! Then we needed shelving, which is so expensive for the amount we needed. WOW again, we received all the shelving we needed from a shop closing down AND the help from two fantastic guys (Noel and Ben) plus a young helper Jules, to get to our Base.
It’s truly humbling – so many thanks to all the great people giving us the helping hand we needed.
A shout out to our drop off locations 🙂
When we started, we knew we had to make it as easy as possible for you, our village, to donate your pre-loved kids items. We are so lucky to partner with a number of MPs and Neighbourhood Centres who act as local drop off locations for us.

What we need next…
As we head into Winter, we always need warm doonas, blankets, winter PJs (especially for older kids please!) and warm jumpers & trackies. We also need newborn nappies and wipes if you can pop a packet into your next weekly shop and drop them at one of the drop off locations above.
We couldn’t do it without you – thank you for supporting Central Coast families.
The We Care Team x
