That’s what makes up our team of volunteers. Our volunteers are the foundation of We Care Connect. And we’d love you to join.
We are a Central Coast & Hunter children’s charity responding to childhood poverty by providing essential child care & safety items beyond the family’s capacity to purchase (case worker assessed). We support families with children’s clothing & shoes, bed linen, cots, bassinets, prams, car seats, safety gates and a wide range of other items.
One great way you can help is to volunteer with us. Come along and join us in sorting all the wonderful community donations we receive. Help prepare the individual support packs for local families in need. And lots of other ways to help!. We do not work directly with recipients, we work with community and case workers so everything we give is part of a total package of care. Wyong or Thornton based.
We currently conduct the program at our base in Wyong each weekday 9am – 2pm, or at Thornton Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9am – 2pm. Occasional working bees following donation days. Volunteer drivers, administrators, social media enthusiasts, sewers, IT people (particularly with CRM experience} and similar positions can work flexibly as needed.
Enthusiasm and a desire to help others! Familiarity with children’s clothing, toys and books always useful. Understand the need for & the ability to maintain confidentiality.
There are jobs for everybody. Sorting donations and putting together family support packages is one big area. But there is also mechanical ability in working with cots and prams. Or warehouse management skills! And a whole range of other professional skills.
